My shoot got cancelled to next next week! :( NOOOOESSS :( No time to do anything anymore. :(

Sorry for my semi-long absence here on Deviant Art; school has really been keeping me busy these past few days. I'll be having a shoot tomorrow with a few friends, so please check back for it soon!

A few people have asked me to recommend some good anime/books/comics. As far as comics/manga are concerened: I'm not as knowledgeable as the everyday otaku, but here goes:

COMICS & MANGA: I find I am often shallow when it comes to choosing comics. I hardly like comics with out astounding art. I love Top Cow comics - Fathom, Witchblade and The Necromacer are my favorites. I highly recommend them. I also suggest you guys check out the local scene: Buy an issue of :iconmangaholix: I'm really so proud of them - they're really making it big now! I especially like Ninja Girl Ko! I have a total crush on her. HAHA.

ANIME: I really have a lot of favorite anime movies/series so I'll just mention a few that I've gotten into recently:
(1)The Diary of Tortov Roddle: Quite different from the anime I'm normally exposed to. There is no dialogue at all throughout the entirety of the series. It's vaguely reminiscent of old school cartoons, except quite surreal and bizarre.
(2)Vampire Knight: I know the fandom of VK exploded recently, and I'm pretty glad it did... otherwise, I probably wouldn't have discovered the series! The anime is quite mushy and sappy at times, but for some reason I can't help but like it. I really like the protagonist of the story - Yuuki; I have dreams of cosplaying her one day. :XD: The first season ended recently, and the second season is expected to debut around October this year.
(3)5 Centimeters Per Second: If you appreciate great animation and art, take a look at 5 Centimeters Per Second. As far as story goes, it's really not that interesting, but it is total eye candy.

If you want to start watching anime, I recommend the following: Spirited Away, Samurai X (first anime series I started following), Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, and Ouran High School Host Club.

ASIAN DRAMAS: So I just started watching "Absolute Boyfriend" HAHA! To put it simply, it's about a ROBOT boyfriend. I was a bit skeptical before watching it, but now I'm pretty obsessed. I AM SO IN LOVE WITH Mizushima Hiro. HE REALLY LOOKS LIKE A PINOY RAKISTA haha! :XD: Truthfully, I'm not really a drama addict, but my guilty pleasures are those really mushy taiwanese dramas like Devil Beside You :XD:

MOVIES: Been out of touch with the movie scene as of late, but I do recommend YOU NOT TO WATCH THE HAPPENING. Probably the biggest disappointment this year. I'm a huge fan of MNS, so I really expected better of him. The whole movie seemed pretty rushed, from the visible microphone and set equipment to its totally disorganized plot line. Oh, one movie I do recommend is: HARD CANDY starring Ellen Paige. It's about a very malicious teenager and her encounter with an Internet Pedophile. I just checked, and IT IS AVAILABLE ON YOUTUBE. Watch it! :)

MUSIC: 4 words: GET COLDPLAY'S NEW ALBUM.

That's it for today! Going to update more tomorrow... If I'm not lazy.

Toycon Update Part II

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 17, 2008, 10:59 PM

Thank You To (for the pictures): ~sakuramiyu Mike Abundo Allan Melivo ~spell-weaver ~z3ll Ralph Crisotomo niko26 , ~aLaNsOng ~candyworx shoevampire, ~sushimaki15 ~discordia24 *zuinx ~blackflamewhiteashes Okay I know I missed a few people (SORRY) If I missed you, please tell me.

I did cosplay for the first time ever. And yes, I basically sucked ass, but it was definitely an experience. Very tempted to cosplay again, but next time I'll find a better suited character that fits my personality more! haha! *cough cough* iamnotperkyenoughtobemomiji *cough* Yes, I am painfully shy and I'm so sorry if I did seem a bit awkward - I was really nervous and conscious and well all sorts of things! haha! But it was nice meeting all of you truly. I wasn't able to take pictures LIKE I SAID I WOULD. AND I'M REALLY MAD ABOUT IT. My camera kinda died on me. OH AND YES AS SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW I AM TERRIBLE WITH NAMES. And I have this thing against calling people by their deviant art pseudonyms - just seems a tad bit impersonal to me! haha! Don't get me wrong though, I have no problem if you guys call me endintears. Speaking of which, I hate my username. ehh. Oh and as trivial and vain as it may seem, I do have to mention that my face was not cooperating with me at all today. I broke out the night before, so I had to put like concealer everywhere. That didn't help at all - it just made me look pasty white... which kinda sucked.

I DID NOT GET TO TAKE MUCH PICTURES WTF. Stupid hat made it difficult to take any at all. But I met so much cool people. <3

If anyone has any pictures of me, I would totally appreciate it if you send it to my email (thea.deleon@gmail.com) or just send it via note ;) I wasn't able to take any pictures of myself HAHA. I understand a lot of people are busy this time of the year, so just send it if you want to/can. Thanks so much!

I know this is a weird request, but if anyone is going to Toycon next week can you please tell me? :XD: I'm planning to take a shit load of pictures again of everyone, and I really want to take pictures of people I actually know/are on Deviant Art! So if you're going, please comment below so I can keep my eyes open for you! And if possible (I understand sometimes people want to keep their cosplay plans a secret)please tell me who you're planning to cosplay as! Also please leave your first name here (if I don't already know it) so when/if I see you I don't have to call you by your deviant art username! haha! Oh, and all the pictures I take on these events can be found in my multiply, so add me there if you haven't done so already! :D Lastly, if ever you see me there don't hesitate to approach me. :XD: A lot of people tell me I exude a weird "Sadako/the Grudge" vibe, but trust me, I will not pop out of your TV screen late at night/pull a ringu on you (I SWEAR). Despite, my pale skin and eyebags I am really not as scary as I look. Oh and despite popular belief, I DO NOT HAVE BAD AURAAA!!

---

Just watched Indiana Jones IV. Screw the bad reviews it was good [is a huge fan of the Indiana Jones series]. Shia is total love!

Congratulations to :iconmangaholix: to a job well done! It was a an awesome convention! Sorry I wasn't able to drop by the booth! Did anyone else go to the art gallery part of the con? The works exhibited there were amazing. :D

I looked/acted pretty sabog that day - no sleep does wonders for me... =_= I actually did end up staying for a long time, because my friend's car was late picking us up (due to the traffic). Oh Oh and I cosplayed a trash bag ROFL.

Mangaholix Pictures Part 1 -

I really liked the Mayuri and Yuko cosplayers. Bleach cosplayers were pretty good too. *slumberdoll and *Crissey you guys are as adorable in person as you are in your pictures. <3

Happy Belated Birthday to :iconvincikun: <333 I got a bear hat thingy and :iconchanbarariot: got a pikachu one :P

OMG UPDATING(M3 Convention) - Kiriban for 70K

Journal Entry: Wed May 28, 2008, 5:37 PM

Lately, I have been avoiding Deviant Art like the plague... and I really have no idea why. I've gotten into making videos and random stuff like that - I even made a youtube account that nobody knows about haha! Most of my videos have been useless and stupid, but I'm working on a more serious video right now - kinda like a movement of sorts. Anyway, PARKER IS CURED / MY CAMERA IS FIXED. Meaning more photos and more updates. woot.

I might be going to the M3 convention: ([link]) please support the mangaholix staff everyone! They are so awesome! :D I WILL NOT BE "COSPLAYING", and I'll be going with some of my non-otaku(pardon my usage of the term) friends so I probably won't be staying long. Regardless, be sure to say Hi so I can take your pictures! I am very very friendly haha... I love cosplayers - kudos to all of you! I don't care if you actually made your costume/your costume is simple it still takes enormous guts to cosplay. :XD: See you there :D

My Macbook Pro is bigbigbig love.

Never done this before... Kiriban for 70K - whoever gets my 70th pageview wins a prize - just show me a screenshot of the hit. Don't know what the prize is yet - you can request for anything (gift art whatever - BUT I SUCKKK AT DRAWING :( :( so I don't think you'd want that), but it'll probably be a feature in my journal.

I'm in full GEEK MODE NOW. Yesterday, ~lihim and I had a trial cosplay shoot; EMPHASIS ON TRIAL. It was a really short shoot, and given the circumstances (the rain and bad lighting)we really shouldn't have shot at all! Although unproductive, I did learn something: It's damn hard to pose in front of the camera, as well as portray your given character. I have so much respect for cosplayers now!! It's also damn hard not feeling conscious about what you're wearing, and not shying away from strangers that give you weird looks! haha.

Anyway, ~lihim and I looked like total NEWBIES in costume while my brother ~hazarddeleon shot some of the photographs. If you couldn't tell already, I cosplayed Momiji Sohma, where as Kat cosplayed Yuki Sohma from the popular anime/manga Fruitsbasket. We shot for about 20 minutes and a great deal of that time was spent saying stuff along the lines of: "Uhm, wait... how do you do this? How should I pose? Oh crap, people. HIDE.". Yes, we are total newbies, and totally embarrassing newbies at that!

I just got to thinking though, that not much people in my school like anime are geeky enough to cosplay with us. In fact I can only name, about two people in my college that actually share my adoration for anime! HAHA. Hopefully, next time Kat and I cosplay we'll be able to find a bigger group to cosplay with! :XD: But, as of now I guess it's okay since we're still beginners, and we're still really self conscious about the whole thing!

SECONDLY, I'm playing WoW now. AHAHAHA. I never thought I would, but I have to admit it's crazy addicting. Better than Guild Wars (IMHO). I've pretty much neglected my Guild Wars character because I forgot the password of my account + already reached LVL20. So, yeah now that WoW is free I've started playing it. I'm a Blood Elf Priestess. Haha and A TOTAL LOW LEVEL NEWBIE AT THAT!!

MOVIES: QUESTION: Has anybody watched Speed Racer yet?? I don't know if I should (I'm cheap, and don't want to waste my money)because I'm expecting something really corny. So, if anyone's watched it I'd appreciate it if they'd tell me if it was good/worth your time? I personally loved IRONMAN. RDJ IS TONY STARK. LOL'D at Samuel Jackson being Nick Fury. Also LOL'D at future war machine. and LOL'D at Stan Lee's Cameo Role! :XD: Can not wait for: Indiana Jones, HellBoy II, and Twilight! :XD: :D

BY THE WAY: I AM NOT DEAD. MY CAMERA IS CURRENTLY GETTING REPAIRED. THE FUCKING NIKON SERVICE CENTER HERE SUCKSSSS (Sorry Pinoy Nikonians :( :() - with that particular note, CANON OUTWEIGHS NIKON HERE BY A MILEEEE!!!
